Maddie having play time!

When we were visiting Nana and Papa in the Woodlands, we took a short video of Maddie laying on her changing table. She loved laying up there and would kick around and talk everytime. We couldn't figure out why she liked sitting up there. You can see her move around and make some sweet little noises in the video. We just want to share with you how alert she is and how much she moves her arms and legs. We can't believe this is our baby girl!!!

Maddie & Momma's First Weekend Alone

Well Les left town on Thursday to go play music and Maddie and I stayed at home together. We have had a fun girls weekend. The first of many girl's weekends together while dad is gone. We went to dinner and watched a movie with a girlfriend from work and then on Friday we went and visited with Damien and Andrea. Look at the babies below!
Maddie and Damien had a good time together and then after their bottles they fussed. Maybe they were talking to each other. Damien is one month older than Maddie. Geoff is in the band with Les so Andrea and I hang out together. They live right around the corner from us, literally. They will grow up to be good friends.

Today, Maddie and Momma went shopping and out to lunch with Jaclyn. Maddie was a good shopper. She rode in her stroller while we tried on lots of clothes and then went to eat. We are training Maddie to be a shopper.....Les will have his hands full with both of us shopping together!

We had a great weekend together.....Maddie was fussy at times but we survived! It was fun getting to see my girl friends and get out of our house for awhile.

Last Weekend in the Woodlands

Maddie and I were in the Woodlands for two weeks while Les was on the road traveling. Our last weekend there, Aunt Penny, Hannah and Jack came over from Lafayette to see Miss Maddie. They were so thrilled to be there and Hannah took right over for me. She loved holding Maddie and waited patiently for her turn to give her a bottle. Jack held her too which was neat because he is our baby and now he is holding the new baby. It was so much fun to see them!Maddie is such a sweet girl giving Aunt Penny a smile!

Hannah and Jack stayed up late to feed Miss Maddie her bottle. They all look so cute in their pj's.

Jack was a little nervous about holding Maddie because he was afraid he would drop her but she looks pretty happy and safe.

While we were home, Great Granny, Aunt Pauline, Andrea and Delone came in town to see and hold Maddie. We laid out by the pool and played with Maddie....that is the life!!!

Awww....Great Granny loving on her great granddaughter. Granny loved sitting in the recliner and holding Maddie.

Aunt Pauline enjoyed meeting Maddie and holding her. She did a good job putting her to sleep after her bottle. :)

Maddie got a new big girl suitcase!! She will have plenty of room to pack all her cute clothes when she goes to visit Nana & Papa or Mimi & Opah. She looks like a little doll in this picture.....she doesn't look real. Hum....

Maddie's doctor visit

Maddie had her two month check up at the doctor today. It was not a fun visit for Miss Maddie because she had to get four shots and another shot that she took out of a dropper. She screamed so hard that she didn't make a sound for a second and Les had to blow in her mouth for her to catch her breath. That may sound familiar because apparently i did that to my mom. I would hold my breath and turn blue. It is all coming back around to me now!!!

Maddie has been very fussy all night and we have been giving her tylenol to help with the discomfort of her shots. Motherhood really sinks in when you see your little girl getting shots and crying and you can't take away her pain. It made me want to cry because i couldn't fix what is wrong with her. All we can do is hold her and tell her its okay.

Here is a picture of her after we got home from the doctor......she has two bandaids on her thighs....poor baby.

Maddie may look bigger because she has gained some more weight since her two week checkup. She is now weighing 10 lbs. 8 oz. and is 21 1/2 in. long. The doctor said she is very alert and strong for her age. She is growing just like she should be.

Here is Maddie after her tylenol.....just chillin' in her swing while mom and dad eat dinner. She discovered her fish on the mobile, thanks to dad.

To add to Maddie's fussy day, Buddy had to go to the vet and get some minor surgery. He did good on his surgery and got to come home this afternoon. He is recovering on the couch and moaning because he is in a little bit of pain. Both my babies are hurting tonight :(

Maddie is Growing....

Maddie is growing so much each day. I see her each day and i can see such a difference in her little personality developing and all the new faces she is learning to make. Maddie is beginning to smile, make noises and hold her head up more. Maddie can push herself up on her arms and look around the room. She is fascinated with lights and fans. She will stare at the light or fan for minutes. We found a new toy that has blinking lights and plays a song. We hold it up for her to see and she just smiles and cooes.
She will be eight weeks on monday. Time is flying by......

Our sweet baby girl and her big blue eyes!

Momma, Maddie and Nana rode in the Rickshaw down to Daddy's concert in Houston on the 4th of July. I was a little apprehensive about riding in this but...it was fun and Maddie slept right through the whole ride. I just held onto her very tightly! She is our precious cargo.

Here we are on the tour bus with Maddie after the concert. She loves to hang out on the bus with her uncles. A little band baby!

The Randy Rogers Band opened for Montgomery Gentry and they were broadcasted live on channel 13-ABC. It was amazing to see all the people. But to say the least, i fell going up the stairs backstage. I had to report to EMS to get ice and bandaged up. I created two big bruises on my shins and one on my arm. So....i missed the live perfomance of them on TV but i am okay. Then we went to the top of the Shell Plaza to watch the largest fireworks show ever.

Today, Aunt Renee and Meredith came over to see Maddie and they couldn't believe how much she has grown in the last month. While they were over, Maddie got hungry so Meredith gave her a bottle. She looks pretty natural holding and feeding Maddie.

Maddie loves to lay on her changing table and stretch out so we gave her some of her new toys to look at. She smiled at her bumble bee yesterday....it was so cute.

Maddie loves to read her new books. This one has faces of mommas and their babies. I want to frame this picture and put it in my classroom to show my students that Maddie loves to read too.
Madeline is such a blessing to our family and we spend hours of the day just watching her sleep or holding her. She has consumed all of our lives and we love every minute of it.

Out and About in the Woodlands & Aunt Rae Rae's Trip

Madeline and I came to the Woodlands for our summer vacation away from home because Les is traveling for the next two weeks. We were bored at our house so we came here to see Nana and Papa. Maddie did wonderful on our car ride over here. She slept for two hours, then i fed her a bottle and she went right back to sleep. It was great!
Today is Sunday and we are sad today because Aunt Rae Rae left for Costa Rica. She is going to study spanish there for a month. She went with a friend, Cheryl and they will be living with a host family and going to school. Rae was really excited about the opportunity of learning spanish in the culture and of course going to the beautiful beaches. She is going to keep us updated through short phone calls and internet. I will post any pictures or information she tells us about her trip. We will certainly miss seeing her!

Heres to you Rae! We toasted to her and her new adventure she will have in Costa Rica. We will miss you so much!!!!!

I am posting pictures that we have taken since we have been here. So you can see what we have been up to the last few days.
Nana got her priorities in order and converted her desk to Maddie's changing table. She has a soft changing pad, wipe warmer, diaper genie, and diapers all ready for Miss Maddie. Maddie loves to lay up there and get her diaper changed or get dressed for the day.

Whenever Maddie is in her carseat or riding in her stroller we take along the womb bear. We toook out the noise device and left the bear at home. We turn it on and she immediately calms down and usually goes to sleep. This is the technique i used to get me to the Woodlands when i was driving by myself. She loves her womb bear. We need to invent a little womb bear for the car.

Papa and Maddie are "kickin' it at the table" in Aunt Rae Rae's words. We are out to dinner to toast to Rae's Costa Rica trip and spend some family time together. Maddie got tired of her stroller and wanted to see what was happening at the table.

Uncle Rick came over to see Miss Maddie. Last time he came over to meet her she was asleep and he didn't want to wake her up. This time she was up and still in her pj's. She looks pretty comfy in Uncle Rick's arms.
