Maddie is home and doing great!!

The Lawless Family was able to come home on Tuesday. Just about 24 hours after Maddie was born. We were so thrilled to be going home and starting our new life together. Les and I got a short lesson by the nurse on how to put Maddie in her high tech car seat. It is quite complicated but she was put in there safe and sound but so tee-tiny. We just can't believe that she is OUR BABY! We love her so much and are so thankful that she is here now. I am going to post pictures of our Maddie with all the people who love her. This is Dr. Theis with the new addition to the Lawless Family. He was just in time to catch Maddie as she arrived.

Nana and Papa are already spoiling this little girl. They pass her around and love on her so much. They are now grandparents which is hard to believe since they have now progressed to the level of Granny and Mawmaw and Pawpaw. Which means that Maddie has great-grandparents. WOW!

Opah and Mimi arrived shortly after Maddie was born. Mimi and Opah were so anxious to get there and meet their new granddaughter. They drove quickly from Midland and were able to stay the night to see her.

WELCOME HOME, MADDIE, WELCOME HOME!!!! When we arrived home on Tuesday evening we had balloons from Nana and Papa. They told us a funny story about these balloons. Nana and Papa bought these balloons and they tied them to the stairs and went and got ready. When they went to leave, the balloons were gone so they had to get more balloons and try it again. But, they were there when we got home and they are still flying around right now. The mum on the left side is from Mimi and Opah. Mimi made this mum with so many cute girl things with bling. It had her name on ribbon with lots of bows. It is hanging outside by the stairs to show everyone that we now have our baby girl.

Oh Aunt Rae Rae is loving on Maddie which will be happening so much. She looks so tiny in her newborn nightgown. Aunt Rae Rae, thank you for all you did on my posting with the pictures of Maddie's birth. Your commentary was perfect.

Oh, Maddie got her first bath at home yesterday. She was not very happy about being naked and having water put on her. She cried and turned all red in the face because she wanted to be dressed. We washed her little body and hair. Having this bath tub was great because we were able to wash her together and then she isn't sitting in cold water. Maybe oneday she will enjoy her baths like her momma does.

I know Maddie is only 3 days old but i couldn't resist putting her in the cute little ducky hooded towel. She was much happier when she was in her towel than in the bath tub. The hood is still a little to big for little Maddie.

Well, this is the end of my posting for today. I am sorry that it took so long for me to post the pictures of Maddie. My life is busy and the days seem to fly by. I get up and feed her then get ready. I nap, she eats again, I eat and hang out and then it starts all over again. Our life has changed so much since she has arrived. We have slowed down and just find ourselves staring at her and watching all the faces she makes. It is such a miracle that we created such a beautiful little girl. We are so blessed to have her and we love her more than we could ever say in words. She has made our life complete now.

Congrats! Maddie is so cute. It's hard to believe that Mackenzie was that small just over a year ago. Time flies by. My advice....enjoy every minute you have with her right now. They don't stay a baby for long. What I loved to do when Mackenzie was a baby was to lay there and watch her sleep.

In just a few short months she will be turning over. And before you know it walking and TALKING! Enjoy the quiet time now. ;-) Mackenzie's new thing is playing dress up with Mommy's clothes. Get ready!!

My mom and I can't wait to see her. I know Nana and Papa aren't spoiling her at all.

Wishing your continued happiness and joy from the Mergist family!

P.S. Aunt Rae Rae....we need to grab lunch one day when your in town. Got a lot to catch up on!
