Maddie with all her family and friends

Our family and friends have been coming by to meet little Maddie. Our last two weeks at home have been very calm and relaxing. In between feeding Maddie, taking naps and loving on our new baby girl; we have had family and friends dropping by. We are so excited for them to meet her and love having company. Mom just left yesterday, May 29-her birthday, to go back to houston. We REALLY miss her!!! She was able to be here for the last three weeks. Awaiting Maddie's arrival and then staying with us to help us get adjusted. It was really hard to tell her bye yesterday. I cried off and on the rest of the afternoon. It was so wonderful having her here to help with Maddie and keep our house up and running. I just don't know how i am going to do it all without her. Before all our company left, we took some pictures. Take a look!

This picture is very special to us.......Its four generations of girls. Granny, Mom, Me and Maddie. That is truly amazing to see Granny as a Great Granny and my mom becoming a Grandma/ Nana. We are very blessed to be able to take this picture. The tradition of the girls in the Whitecotton/Wilson family continue on.

Great Granny is loving on her great-granddaughter. Granny spent quality time with Maddie each morning. After i fed her in the morning around seven. Granny got to hold her and love on her while i got to go back to bed for a couple of hours. Such a sweet picture!

Amber came to visit Maddie for the weekend too. Amber is my cousin so that makes her....Maddie's second cousin or something confusing like that. Maddie will call her Amber. Amber was the last baby that our family has seen and she is now a Senior in Highschool. Wow..it was time for a new addition. We love babies too much.

Aunt Debbey came down with Granny and Amber to spend time with us and Maddie. We were so excited when they were able to come and meet her. Aunt Debbey decided that it would be too confusing for Maddie to call her Aunt Debbey so she wants to be called "Aunt Dee-Dee." I think that is so cute and perfect for her.
Meredith and Aunt Renee came this past weekend to see Maddie too. Meredith is my cousin too like Amber so Maddie will call her by her name too. I don't have a picture of Renee with her for some reason so she will have to send me some that she took. We were so glad that they came over to see us.
Brooke got to meet Maddie on the bus after Maddie went to her first of many Randy Rogers Band concerts. Les played Gruene Hall so we put her in her stroller and took her. We sat outside and away from the music. We were able to show her off to other music people and band family. Brooke and Randy had a hard time letting Maddie go. They kept saying that they wanted a baby one day. Little band babies will be taking over the bus soon. Pretty exciting to see our guys with little babies.

James and Stacy Hertless drove over from San Antonio to see little Maddie. They are good friends of ours. James plays for Brandon Rhyder so that is how we are connected. They are such a sweet couple and we love hanging out with them. We were so excited to have them come over and see her and visit for a little while. We just wish they lived in New Braunfels so we could hangout more.

Doctor visit

Madeline went to see her peditrician today. We have good news! Maddie has gained a pound over the last two weeks and her jaundice is gone. She has grown 1/4 of an inch too. All that eating and sleeping is helping her grow. She is now weighing: 6 lbs. 9 oz. and measuring 19 inches long. She had to get her Hepitatis B shot today. She screamed after they gave her the shot and her face got all red. Les picked her up and she stopped crying but i couldn't watch them give her the shot. It made me hurt. Her doctor said everything looks good and she is going back to see her in two months. We were so glad to have a good doctor visit and hear that she is gaining weight. She might begin to outgrow all her preemie outfits soon.

Mawmaw and Pawpaw are coming down to see Maddie tomorrow. We cannot wait for them to meet their new great granddaughter. They will be staying through the weekend to spend time with us. We will take lots of pictures and i will post them next week for you to see.

We love you all and really appreciate all the comments and sweet thoughts about the blog. I am so busy now but i will try to post more pictures and comments soon.

Maddie is home and doing great!!

The Lawless Family was able to come home on Tuesday. Just about 24 hours after Maddie was born. We were so thrilled to be going home and starting our new life together. Les and I got a short lesson by the nurse on how to put Maddie in her high tech car seat. It is quite complicated but she was put in there safe and sound but so tee-tiny. We just can't believe that she is OUR BABY! We love her so much and are so thankful that she is here now. I am going to post pictures of our Maddie with all the people who love her. This is Dr. Theis with the new addition to the Lawless Family. He was just in time to catch Maddie as she arrived.

Nana and Papa are already spoiling this little girl. They pass her around and love on her so much. They are now grandparents which is hard to believe since they have now progressed to the level of Granny and Mawmaw and Pawpaw. Which means that Maddie has great-grandparents. WOW!

Opah and Mimi arrived shortly after Maddie was born. Mimi and Opah were so anxious to get there and meet their new granddaughter. They drove quickly from Midland and were able to stay the night to see her.

WELCOME HOME, MADDIE, WELCOME HOME!!!! When we arrived home on Tuesday evening we had balloons from Nana and Papa. They told us a funny story about these balloons. Nana and Papa bought these balloons and they tied them to the stairs and went and got ready. When they went to leave, the balloons were gone so they had to get more balloons and try it again. But, they were there when we got home and they are still flying around right now. The mum on the left side is from Mimi and Opah. Mimi made this mum with so many cute girl things with bling. It had her name on ribbon with lots of bows. It is hanging outside by the stairs to show everyone that we now have our baby girl.

Oh Aunt Rae Rae is loving on Maddie which will be happening so much. She looks so tiny in her newborn nightgown. Aunt Rae Rae, thank you for all you did on my posting with the pictures of Maddie's birth. Your commentary was perfect.

Oh, Maddie got her first bath at home yesterday. She was not very happy about being naked and having water put on her. She cried and turned all red in the face because she wanted to be dressed. We washed her little body and hair. Having this bath tub was great because we were able to wash her together and then she isn't sitting in cold water. Maybe oneday she will enjoy her baths like her momma does.

I know Maddie is only 3 days old but i couldn't resist putting her in the cute little ducky hooded towel. She was much happier when she was in her towel than in the bath tub. The hood is still a little to big for little Maddie.

Well, this is the end of my posting for today. I am sorry that it took so long for me to post the pictures of Maddie. My life is busy and the days seem to fly by. I get up and feed her then get ready. I nap, she eats again, I eat and hang out and then it starts all over again. Our life has changed so much since she has arrived. We have slowed down and just find ourselves staring at her and watching all the faces she makes. It is such a miracle that we created such a beautiful little girl. We are so blessed to have her and we love her more than we could ever say in words. She has made our life complete now.

She Has Arrived...Early!!! :)

Hi Everyone, this is Aunt Rae Rae reporting on Amanda and Les' behalf since they are still at the hospital... Madeline Brooke Lawless arrived yesterday afternoon at 3:27 pm... she came out weighing a a whopping 5 pounds and 11.8 ounces, and 18 3/4 inches long...she is just a lil peanut!!! haha...she couldn't be more beautiful or amazing.. she is a gorgeous mix of her mom and dad... Amanda's labor was very brief. She started contractions at 6 am and by 10 am we (my momma, me, Amanda and Les) were at the hospital and she was getting checked in. Once the nurse checked her and saw that she had dilated to 4cm they knew this was not false labor! Her contractions were pretty close together and getting stronger ... by 11 she had received her epidural and was lovin life! Her Dr. came in and checked on her at 12:30 and she was at 7cm and he broke her water.. he said Maddie would be here by 3:30 that afternoon. My dad got there at 2:30 and amanda began to push at 3:00..he got there just in time! She pushed for about 30 minutes and by 3:27 Maddie was in the world! It was absolutely unbelieveable.. there are no words to describe how amazing Amanda did and how it felt to witness this little miracle being born. I am so happy that she is here and safe..now its time to spoil her! Les and Amanda will be wonderful parents, they are so great with her already. Les' parents arrived right after Maddie's Birth and they were there to hold her and meet her as well. Les' parents were there, my parents were there, I was there, and some of the band came by to meet her too! Well the whole family should be home tonight or tomorrow.. I know everyone is anxious to meet her and hold her... but i do have some pictures for now so everyone can see this precious little girl.. Thank you for all the prayers they worked.. Madeline Brooke is absolutely BEAUTIFUL!!!

Maternity Photos

We (mom, dad, rae and me) went to Shelby Lane's photography studio in town to have my maternity photos taken. I loved her studio and her personality. She posed me in a sheer/ beaded pink shirt with jean capris, that i brought from home. She dressed me in a wrap of fabric just showing my belly. Maddie was moving around a lot during the photo shoot and Shelby was able to capture a couple of pictures of Maddie kicking me. I was laughing with my hand on my belly. I can't wait to see all her pictures. The ones below are taken by Rachel so you can see a little of what she did.
I am so excited to have captured Maddie and myself at this part of my pregnancy. We will go back and take Maddie's birth announcements, newborn and family photos. Look at the pictures and let me know what you think.

Les, Mom and Me are going to Dr. Theis tomorrow afternoon to see Maddie's progress. I have been having more contractions and lots of pressure so i hope she comes soon. Mom is staying with us for awhile because Les is still traveling and i don't need to be alone. We are so lucky that she can come and stay with us. We will let you know what the doctor says tomorrow.

Getting Close!

I had my doctor's appointment on Tuesday. Dr. Theis was out sick so i saw Dr. Thompson. I have never seen him before but he was really nice and i felt comfortable seeing him. He did an exam to check my progress and said that i was moving quickly for a first pregnancy. He said i will probably not make it to my due date. Maddie has already "dropped" and i am starting to dilate and efface. I am dilated to a 1 and 1/2 and 75 % effaced. I know this is yucky words to some people but it means that her arrival is getting close. I left the office feeling very excited because i am ready for her to be here. I will see Dr. Theis on monday and he will do the very uncomfortable exam again and let me know the progress.

I can't believe that i am this close to meeting my new little girl. It is truly a miracle. We feel so blessed to be having her and having had a healthy pregnancy. To capture this "pregnant belly," i am going on saturday morning to have photos taken. I found a photographer in New Braunfels. She does beautiful photos (Shelby Lane Photography) in the maternity aspect, newborn and then birth announcements. We will do the package deal so we can have our first family photo taken through her too. Be watching for those pictures when i get them back.

We love you all and will let you know what happens on Monday. Keep in touch!
