Maddie Update!

I can't believe its been a month since i have written on my blog! Geez..where has the time gone. Well, lets see...Maddie began running a 102.6 fever a few days after my last post. Kiddie Koop called me so i took her to the doctor then they couldn't find anything so they sent me to the hospital to run test. I was very apprehensive about what was going on but i went as i was told. It was a traumatic day for the both of us. She screamed while they did a urine and blood test. I was crying and then we did chest x-rays only to find NOTHING! They said monitor her fever and call if anything changes. Mimi & Opah drove down here to keep Maddie so i could work and they stayed through the weekend. That Saturday, we went to see Daddy play the Austin Rodeo. Maddie was crawling all over the bus like a crazy girl! Check out the pictures.

Mimi & Opah showing Maddie her little chick that bounces around!

Maddie got an easter basket from Mimi & Opah, her favorite thing was chewing on the plastic eggs...go figure!

Mimi and Aunt Rae Rae hanging out at Chilis with Maddiemoo. We decided to not eat carnival food and headed out for real good food!Daddy loves to teach Maddie new things. This is one of their new tricks they are practicing. Drinking out of a straw and we think she can really get a little of it too. The whole family eating out at Chilis before the Austin Rodeo.

Maddiemoo keeping everyone entertained on the tour bus while we were waiting for the show. I don't think the band ever thought a baby would be crawling all over the bus and we were happy watching her too! :)Waiting for the show to start, sitting in the stands but we got impatient so we went and stood on the dirt. It was closer to the stage too! More fun!

Daddy up on the big screen for all the people to see. I was able to capture it on camera but its kinda hard to see but really awesome to see my husband on a big screen playing drums!!!!!!!!!

The Randy Rogers Band!

Momma & Aunt Rae Rae hanging out on the dirt watching the show!

On Sunday, Great Granny (GiGi) and Nana came over for the week to see Maddie and take care of her. Nana and I took Maddie to the doctor on Monday night and she had two ear infections so that is where the fever decided to settle. While i worked all week, Nana took care of Maddie and took care of my house. It was a great week for all of us. They got to see Maddie crawling around and pulling up on everything. We were able to snap a few pictures before they had to leave on Saturday.

Maddie out to lunch with Momma and Aunt Rae Rae. She is eating some table food such as bread, crackers, ham and some potatoes. She is loving it, just look at her face!

Papa came in town for one night to see Maddie before he headed out for work in Austin. He snapped a cute picture of Maddie getting a bath by Nana. She loves her bath time, we can't wait to see how she does in a pool.

GiGi and Maddie playing with a little toy kitten. GiGi had fun with Maddiemoo. We wish she lived closer. :)

The Four Generations! The girl generation continues on.... what a blessing! I love you all!!!

Momma & Maddie

Well, I think i can finally close this long update. Maddie is back on more medicine for the ears. We went to the doctor yesterday then did a few errands. She is becoming such a great shopper and I love each day with her. She is growing and doing new things which make me laugh so hard. What a blessing she is to our family, i never knew i could love someone so much as i do my daughter and husband too. :) We are heading to Houston for spring break and I will post some pictures from our week there. (Momma & Daddy are sneaking away to Lake Charles for a few days so Maddie will be extra spoiled at Nana & Papa's so watch for those stories too!) Have a great day! We love you!

Maddie is mobile!!!!!!!!!!!!

Well the day has come that Maddie has become mobile. Yeah....it is an exciting time and busy time for mom and dad. We can't turn our back on her for a minute because she will be eating Buddy's toy or pulling over the magazine rack. Geez...its very busy but so much fun. She is showing her little personality and she is happier because she can move around. The video is a small glimpse of her moving around.

She went to the doctor today too and got a couple of needle pricks. She got tested for anemia and tuberculouis (not sure on the spelling :( She was all good though.

Maddie's new measurements:
Weighing: 16 lbs. 9 oz. (10% percentile)
Length: 27 1/2 in. long

Everything is right on track for her nine month check up. She is able to start eating some table food and she is now waving too. Its so cute. She waves "Hi" and "bye" and it makes you smile! :) Okay, check out our new video!!!!!
This video shows more of her talking and making all her new sounds and crawling too. She is growing so fast....

Trip to Lafayette & Mardi Gras!!!!!

Before we got the unexpected news about Linda, we packed up and headed to Lafayette to see our guys. The band was recording their new record in Maurice so we went to check out the property and the studio. It was just beautiful, the perfect example of south Louisiana. We had a great time hanging out there. We ate some cajun food and then went to Mardi Gras parades on Saturday and caught some beads. Maddie LOVED IT! Just check out the cute pictures!

Daddy decided to help Maddie crawl by showing her. Good Job Daddy!
Uncle Randy and Uncle Geoff listening to the new cuts of music.

After the studio we went to Prejeans to eat dinner. We got brave and gave Maddie a lemon to suck on and surprisingly she loved it! She would suck on it and then make this cute face with her lips sealed tightly. She would look up at Les and grin. We were histarical!

We all decided to get our faces painted for the Mardi Gras parades. It was spontaneous and fun!

The whole gang with their faces painted... crazy cajuns!

Check us out.....we look pretty funny!

Maddie is waiting for the parade to start, all bundled up with Hannah and Jack!

Enjoying the parade with Randy & Brooke!

Nana & Aunt Rae Rae lookin' cute with their faces painted!

Aunt Penny, Hannah & Maddie all bundled up for the parade.

Oh Papa..... I got my first pair of beads and they have rubber duckies on them. She got them on the first float too! Go Maddie!!!!

Happy Mardi Gras from the whole family!

Sad news....

While we were in Lousiana to see the band record their new record, Jan. 25- Jan. 27, my Aunt Linda was called to Heaven. She is my mom's sister and we were all very close to her. It was a shock because she had been feeling bad with fluid on her lungs but she got everything checked out and was put on medicine. She was called to Heaven by her father (Poppy) and God. We got the sad call on Sat. evening and since this happened our life has changed. We came home and went to Shreveport for the service and to be with our family. We loved her so much and she loved her life. We all feel a void in our life since she is gone. So, this is not an excuse but we have all slowed down our life and just spent time with family. I put all my blog posts and school work aside to be with my family. Just keep our family in your prayers and each day we find more comfort in knowing she is happier and she is in a heavenly place. We will see her again soon.....

Fun Times!

Welll, we have been very busy since Christmas. Les went to Colorado with the band to play for a week so me and Maddie spent some quality time together. We went over to Elizabeth's house to hang out and let the girls play while we got to visit. It was so much fun! We went to the outlet mall then grabbed dinner and rode around on her ATV on their property with all the animals. It was Maddie's first time to see a cow and donkey. We were able to snap a few pictures. Check us out on the ranch with the animals....

Maddie and Claire (Elizabeth's little girl) riding in the ATV.
Hang on girls!
A few days after that, Les came home for a few days before they headed into the recording studio to begin working on a new record. Yea! While he was home, he hung Maddie's swing in the backyard. She loves to swing. I have a feeling that my child is going to be a daredevil. Oh goodness....
Daddy & Maddie
Priceless......

Maddie's First Christmas Eve

Maddie had a wonderful first Christmas with way too many gifts. She got new toys from Santa and more toys from the family. We spent Christmas Eve and Christmas Day with my family and then flew to Midland for a few days. Before we celebrated Chrismas, we got all dressed up for the Christmas Eve Service, which was in the Woodlands. It was our first time to stay home for Christmas. It was strange to be there without our family. We went to church then came home and mom cooked dinner. We sat around and talked and took way too many pictures of Maddiebug. Just look at how cute Maddie is in her Christmas dress.....quite a big photo shoot.....
Rae and I both got new amazing cameras for Christmas so....I have to take my time and decide which pictures to post. I will post some more of Maddie on Christmas morning after i get them uploaded on my computer. Keep checking in with us!

Maddie is sick :(

Over last weekend, Mimi & Opah were here with us. We went shopping for Christmas gifts, out to eat and more shopping. It was so much fun spending time with them. Maddie got to play "hookie" from school for two days! While they were here, Maddie started coughing and as the weekend progressed, she got worse. When I took her to daycare on Monday they said she was fussy. Another baby had been out sick and they said Maddie was fine. Well, Tuesday after school i went to get Maddie and the teachers said she is getting worse. She wouldn't take her bottle and didn't eat much food. She couldn't sleep because she was so congested. I called her doctor and we got an appointment for Wednesday. I pick her up early from school and they said, "maddie isn't doing good at all...she is really sick."

Well, the doctor said she has RSV and an ear infection. Apparently, RSV is going around the town and our daycare. I am so glad that i made an appointment for her. Poor baby, she was miserable. We got an antibiotic for the infection and an inhaler for the RSV. We have to put a mask over her nose and mouth and then we push the inhaler. It releases the medicine and she breathes it in through the long tube which connects to the mask. Long story.....sorry....BUT she is feeling better today. It was scary to see her so sick and it happened so fast.

Nana took care of her on Thursday so i could work then i took off Friday so i could keep her. Nana & Aunt Rae Rae went to Houston for the weekend. She has been good for me. We went shopping to finish Christmas gifts today. We are all glad she is doing better. :)

Here is Maddie all dressed up for shopping with Mommy! You can tell that she is back to her usual self. Gosh....i can't believe how big she is already. Time is flying.

Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays!!

New tooth!

Maddie was extremely fussy on Monday when Les took her to school. When i got to school on Monday afternoon they had put on her sheet that she cut a tooth! I was so excited! I squatted down and put my finger in her mouth and sure enough, there was a sharp little baby tooth. Maddiebug is getting so big.

When i got to school today to pick her up they said she was breaking through with ANOTHER TOOTH. She isn't wasting any time with these teeth. She was playing tonight and chewing on her toys and then she would scream. I figured out she was biting too hard on her toy and hurting her new tooth. Poor baby.....thank god for oragel. We live on that stuff. I will try to get a picture of her new teeth when you can see them more.

6 month checkup

Maddie went to see Dr. Howelton yesterday for her six month checkup. Luckily, Les was off on a Friday night so he was able to come with me. It was a nice treat. He held Maddie while they gave her the four shots she needed. She also got a flu shot. Poor baby, she screamed and he had to blow in her mouth to get her to breathe. It breaks my heart but she actually did better this time around. She fussed a little but we kept on Christmas shopping. Then, we went to dinner and she was great. Here is a cute picture of Maddie while she was waiting for the doctor. Oh, i forgot to tell you: she starting sitting up on her own Thanksgiving morning. It was so exciting!

Maddie is weighing: 15 lbs. 0 oz. and is 24 in. long.

The doctor was so surprised at well she is sitting up on her own and how active she is. Maddie pushed Dr. Howelton's hand away when she went to listen to her heart. Then she grabbed the stethescope and tried to chew on it. The doctor said she shouldn't be doing that until 9 months. She was impressed with Maddiebug.

She is now able to eat Stage 2 foods and have juice in a cup. The cup has to have handles. We couldn't believe that she was able to do have a cup already. Wow....its exciting for us. Maddie just loves her babyfood so this will be fun.

Everything else is good, Maddie goes to bed around 7:00 and sleeps till around 5:30 a.m. We are very blessed to have such a good baby.

Our Thanksgiving!

It was Maddie's first Thanksgiving and we were spending it with Nana, Papa & Aunt Rae Rae. It was so relaxing and fun to just hang out and play with Maddie. We went out to dinner a couple of nights and then did some shopping on "Black Friday!" It was fun to get in the crowds with everyone and feel the Christmas spirit. We hope your Thanksgiving was as good as ours. Enjoy our photos!

Maddie's first Thanksgiving Meal at her Nana's house. She really enjoyed her sweet potatoes and bannanas. She is eating baby food 3 times a day. Goodness...hungry girl.

We went out to Guadalajara's one night and enjoyed some good Mexican food. "Its all the girls!"

Just practicing walking at Nana's house in my cute outfit from Mimi. We love it on her! Maddie loves to play with her daddy on the floor. She laughs when he makes her fly or tickles her tummy. She can almost sit up on her own!

Happy 32nd Birthday to Les! We love you!

Here is the group that helped Les celebrate his birthday. Brooke & Randy were able to come eat too. (Maddie is asleep....night night)

Below is pictures of Maddie & Damien playing. We went over to their house for Geoff's birthday. The babies are getting so big. It was cute to see them play or at least babble to each other.
