The Family & My girls

Cadence has been such a blessing to our life and the family has all been down to see her and play with Big Sister Maddie! I have taken off work for a few months to spend time with the baby and enjoy this time before it passes. :) I have been hanging out at our house, Maddie goes to school and then hanging out at mom's house while Les is traveling. We shop, eat out and just relax. Cadence was recently put on medicine for acid reflux so she is now becoming a much happier and pleasant baby. She is now taking Enfamil AR formula too. Take a look at our pictures from the last month with all the family visiting the girls!

When she isn't taking a pacifier, she is sucking her thumb...oh no!

Cadence Arrives!

Cadence Olivia made her arrival on Tuesday night at 9:00 pm on August 10, 2010. I went into Labor & Delivery with the feeling of contractions but nothing too strong. I wanted the nurse to check to make sure i was not leaking my fluids and sure enough, i was! The contractions were about 2 min apart when they hoooked me up to the monitors so needless to say....i was in labor and she was coming that night!! Maddie and Nana waited in the waiting room to hear from Les on what to do. They admitted me at 5:30 pm and around 7:00 pm the doctor came in and broke my water. I was then in "real" labor and waiting very patiently for the doctor to come give me the epidural. Once that happened, i was good to go! I had the epidural around 7:30 and Cadence arrived at 9:00 pm. It was an easy delivery and i am so glad she is here even though she was early.
She weighed 6 lbs. 2 oz. and 19 1/4 in.long. She was born at 36 weeks 5 days. Almost a month early but she measured great and has had no problems since birth! We are so blessed and Thank God for a healthy little girl.

34 Week Appt.

I had my 34th week check up today with Dr. Theis. Everything is going good and I have gained 1 1/2 lbs. since my last visit. So that brings me to a grand total of 16 lbs. this pregnancy!! :) I am pretty happy with that. Cadence is head down and putting a lot of pressure on me because of it but she is low and ready to go! So, i guess i can't complain about that but i just bought a support band to help alleviate some of her pressure. I hope it works. I got to hear her heartbeat which was nice and strong then Dr. Theis talked about delivery and pain medication during labor. So, i guess we are getting close!
I have another appt. on Aug. 2 to see the progress of Cadence.

Stephanie Guinn, a family friend, took some maternity pictures of me when i was home the other weekend. I have used some to make the opening of my blog and here is a few more that she sent me in an email. I am getting more in the mail so stay tuned but look how cute they are...yes...i am a little biased but they are so fun and natural. :) Enjoy....

Here i am at 32 weeks pregnant so that makes me 8 months along.

Cadence's Nursery

Here is the long awaited pictures of Cadence's nursery! I am not finished yet with the walls, so don't look at that part yet but the bedding is done and I am very happy with the outcome so far. She is going to love her room because we all love going in there with all the bright colors. It is so happy! The curtains were handmade by Nana and the lamp was all decorated by Nana too. What would i do without her? :)

Vacation Trips So Far....

Our first vacation of the summer after our trip to The Woodlands for the week was to Great Wolf Lodge in Grapevine, TX. What an amazing place to go as a kid because it is geared for children and the parents go along for the fun. We stayed there for 2 nights and had a blast each day. Maddie became very comfortable swimming with a life jacket and going down the big slides by herself. That was a huge accomplishment from last year but she did it more once she saw Chloe going by herself. Its so good for her to see Cousin Chloe doing things then she wants to do them. Look at our pictures from our first vacation stop......Waiting to check in the hotel...Maddie was guarding the luggage for us and chillin' too!
This is a picture from the lobby of the inside part of the waterpark. This is where we spent most of our time because it had the kiddie area with slides for Maddie.
Outside there was a big pool and fountains that squirted up. Chloe decided to be silly in the water so Maddie followed right behind her. So funny....
Squirting the big fountain of water across the pool became Maddie's favorite thing to do outside in the big pool.
Maddie, Trinity & Mimi waiting for the nighttime story show to begin in the lobby. Mimi loved spending time with her grand-girls!!
Oohh.....Happy Early 4th of July! Mimi bought the girls matching swimsuits but Maddie couldn't wear hers yet because she is so tiny and the swimsuit was too big. :(

This is Maddie going down the big slide and Aunt Kristi caught her at the end she loved it too!
This is the rest of the family watching and laughing as Maddie comes flying down the slide for the first time!!
Mimi and Maddie squirting the big water off the boat at all the other kids.
Our vacation with the family was so fun and ended in New Braunfels with swimming and hanging out.

We loaded back up on Sunday and headed to Lake Charles with Nana, Papa, Aunt Rae Rae and Uncle Andrew for a few days since we couldn't make the trip all the way to the beach in Florida. We stayed at L'Auberge Du Lac and swam in the lazy river each day, took naps, gambled, lost some money and had a great time with the family!! The first full day we were there, the guys decided to rent a Cabana so we had a place to get out of the sun. We had a tv, fridge, table, loungers and fans...it was awesome!!
Maddie and Nana laying in the shade after swimming in the lazy river for hours....
Here is our really cool set up at the Cabana...this is the way to lay out by the pool!
Somebody is getting sleepy......
Maddie's favorite thing was to put on her life jacket and swim the lazy river. She thought she was so big and could float on her back too.
She is floating like her Granny!

Maddie had a great time at the "Big Hotel" as she called it! What a great place to vacation and i can't wait to go back and swim some more. Nana and Papa headed to the beach after this day and we all headed back to reality. It was a fun and relaxing time with both families and we are glad we got to spend time with everyone before Cadence makes her arrival and we are homebound for a little while. Happy Summer!!
