Maddie is sick :(

Over last weekend, Mimi & Opah were here with us. We went shopping for Christmas gifts, out to eat and more shopping. It was so much fun spending time with them. Maddie got to play "hookie" from school for two days! While they were here, Maddie started coughing and as the weekend progressed, she got worse. When I took her to daycare on Monday they said she was fussy. Another baby had been out sick and they said Maddie was fine. Well, Tuesday after school i went to get Maddie and the teachers said she is getting worse. She wouldn't take her bottle and didn't eat much food. She couldn't sleep because she was so congested. I called her doctor and we got an appointment for Wednesday. I pick her up early from school and they said, "maddie isn't doing good at all...she is really sick."

Well, the doctor said she has RSV and an ear infection. Apparently, RSV is going around the town and our daycare. I am so glad that i made an appointment for her. Poor baby, she was miserable. We got an antibiotic for the infection and an inhaler for the RSV. We have to put a mask over her nose and mouth and then we push the inhaler. It releases the medicine and she breathes it in through the long tube which connects to the mask. Long story.....sorry....BUT she is feeling better today. It was scary to see her so sick and it happened so fast.

Nana took care of her on Thursday so i could work then i took off Friday so i could keep her. Nana & Aunt Rae Rae went to Houston for the weekend. She has been good for me. We went shopping to finish Christmas gifts today. We are all glad she is doing better. :)

Here is Maddie all dressed up for shopping with Mommy! You can tell that she is back to her usual self. Gosh....i can't believe how big she is already. Time is flying.

Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays!!

New tooth!

Maddie was extremely fussy on Monday when Les took her to school. When i got to school on Monday afternoon they had put on her sheet that she cut a tooth! I was so excited! I squatted down and put my finger in her mouth and sure enough, there was a sharp little baby tooth. Maddiebug is getting so big.

When i got to school today to pick her up they said she was breaking through with ANOTHER TOOTH. She isn't wasting any time with these teeth. She was playing tonight and chewing on her toys and then she would scream. I figured out she was biting too hard on her toy and hurting her new tooth. Poor baby.....thank god for oragel. We live on that stuff. I will try to get a picture of her new teeth when you can see them more.

6 month checkup

Maddie went to see Dr. Howelton yesterday for her six month checkup. Luckily, Les was off on a Friday night so he was able to come with me. It was a nice treat. He held Maddie while they gave her the four shots she needed. She also got a flu shot. Poor baby, she screamed and he had to blow in her mouth to get her to breathe. It breaks my heart but she actually did better this time around. She fussed a little but we kept on Christmas shopping. Then, we went to dinner and she was great. Here is a cute picture of Maddie while she was waiting for the doctor. Oh, i forgot to tell you: she starting sitting up on her own Thanksgiving morning. It was so exciting!

Maddie is weighing: 15 lbs. 0 oz. and is 24 in. long.

The doctor was so surprised at well she is sitting up on her own and how active she is. Maddie pushed Dr. Howelton's hand away when she went to listen to her heart. Then she grabbed the stethescope and tried to chew on it. The doctor said she shouldn't be doing that until 9 months. She was impressed with Maddiebug.

She is now able to eat Stage 2 foods and have juice in a cup. The cup has to have handles. We couldn't believe that she was able to do have a cup already. Wow....its exciting for us. Maddie just loves her babyfood so this will be fun.

Everything else is good, Maddie goes to bed around 7:00 and sleeps till around 5:30 a.m. We are very blessed to have such a good baby.

Our Thanksgiving!

It was Maddie's first Thanksgiving and we were spending it with Nana, Papa & Aunt Rae Rae. It was so relaxing and fun to just hang out and play with Maddie. We went out to dinner a couple of nights and then did some shopping on "Black Friday!" It was fun to get in the crowds with everyone and feel the Christmas spirit. We hope your Thanksgiving was as good as ours. Enjoy our photos!

Maddie's first Thanksgiving Meal at her Nana's house. She really enjoyed her sweet potatoes and bannanas. She is eating baby food 3 times a day. Goodness...hungry girl.

We went out to Guadalajara's one night and enjoyed some good Mexican food. "Its all the girls!"

Just practicing walking at Nana's house in my cute outfit from Mimi. We love it on her! Maddie loves to play with her daddy on the floor. She laughs when he makes her fly or tickles her tummy. She can almost sit up on her own!

Happy 32nd Birthday to Les! We love you!

Here is the group that helped Les celebrate his birthday. Brooke & Randy were able to come eat too. (Maddie is asleep....night night)

Below is pictures of Maddie & Damien playing. We went over to their house for Geoff's birthday. The babies are getting so big. It was cute to see them play or at least babble to each other.

Lovin' our Family!

Last weekend, Granny, Aunt Pauline and Aunt Debbey drove in from Shreveport to see Maddie. They haven't seen her since August and couldn't believe how much she has grown. Maddie has gotten so strong in her legs and loves to play with her toys too. We enjoyed visiting with our family and playing with Maddie bug. Aunt Pauline's birthday was the day they came in town so we went to dinner and walked around Market Street. Saturday, we put together Maddie toys for Nana's house and watched football. Sunday, Rae and I left to go home without Maddiebug and Buddy. They stayed at Nana & Papa's house for the two days so i could work. It was a LONG trip home and it was so quiet without them. Les was home so we had a good time together. We were able to go out without having a babysitter. Then, we came back to the Woodlands on Tuesday night for Thanksgiving.

Take a look at our fun filled weekend together!

Baby Stroller.....Just Watch it!!!!!

Maddie's Time with her Nana

Maddie has spent the last week and a half with her Nana. Nana came on Halloween and just left yesterday. We loved having her here and Maddie has become REALLY attached to her Nana. Nana came to keep Maddie because I was invited to the CMA's in Nashville with Les and the Band. All the band girls flew out there for three days. We went to a concert, walked down the red carpet and went to a pre-party then headed to the awards. After the awards, we went to Universal Music Group after party. It was amazing, i had so much fun! Maddie was taken care by Nana & Aunt Rae Rae while i was gone. They took her out to eat, shopping, read books and played at the house. Check out some of their pictures from their week together.
Maddie having tummy time on the couch. (I have a picture of me laying just like that on my parent's bed and Maddie is starting to look like me..)
Maddie and Nana's favorite place to hangout, on the backporch swing. She loves to be outside with all her toys.
Playing her exersaucer is fun now for Maddie because she can touch the ground. She has taught herself, from daycare, how to spin around to see all the toys. Nana fed Maddie cereal and fruit in the morning and cereal and veggie at night. She seems to enjoy eating a little more now. Nana bought Maddie some little brown shoes that are so adorable. They fit her perfectly. They look like little Mary janes but brown leather. Aunt Rae Rae and Nana dressed her up for the grocery store in her outfit with her new shoes on. So cute in little shoes....we are lovin' it!

Maddie loved pushing cousin Chloe's baby stroller around the house. She thought that was pretty fun since she has taken to standing up more than wanting to try to crawl. She might just walk like her daddy did at almost 8 months. We'll see......

Thank you Nana and Aunt Rae Rae for keeping Maddie, she was definetly spoiled and I didn't worry about her at all. We love you!

Little Ladybug

Maddie was a ladybug for Halloween. I know that i am a little overdue for the pictures but i have been busy, sorry. We (Nana, Rae, and Me) didn't go trick or treating because she is too little to know what to do. We don't really eat candy either so we stayed home and had Andrea, Carol and Damien over to hang out. We let the babies play together and they had so much fun. They kept pulling on each others clothes and talking to each other. It was adorable. Then we sat in the driveway and watched all the cute costumes come down the street. It was a fun but chilly first halloween for Maddiebug. Look at our little lady below!

Our little ladybug.....so cute!

Daddy got to see Maddie dressed up the night before Halloween because he was leaving that night for a 3 week tour. He missed her first halloween so we created it the night before. She wasn't too happy about it though :(

Oh Maddie....you're so cute!

This is a short clip of Maddie after she has eaten her bannanas for the first time. I fed her the baby food outside because she loves the outdoors. That might have helped her ease into eating and now we are feeding her in a highchair. She seems so small to be in a highchair but she can get all messy in there. In the background of the video you hear Les stapling lights around our deck. Just to help identify the wierd sound.

She loves eating baby food now. We had a very hard time getting her to eat cereal. We tried the cereal with bannanas and we were successful. Thank goodness. So far, Maddie has eaten: bannanas and peas. We are trying one food a week and switching between a fruit and veggie. I will post more pictures of her eating later. Thank you for checking in on us!!!!

Last weekend with our family

I had to put this picture first because it is so cute. Maddie's First Halloween! We had to prop her up between the pumpkins but it turned out really cute. (She always crosses her little feet....aww..)

Last weekend, Mimi, Opah, Aunt Krisit, Uncle Curt and Chloe came to visit Miss Maddie. They drove in from Midland for the weekend and they got to see Les play on Saturday night. It was a short trip but very fun. The girls went shopping on Saturday and we took the kids to the pumpkin' patch next to Maddie's school. The weather was amazing and we took some darling pictures. Then we went out to dinner and headed to Les' show in Buda. Chloe loved seeing Maddie. She sat next to her in the car and entertained her while we drove around town. We loved seeing everyone and here are some pictures from our weekend together. Enjoy!

After our family left on Sunday, Les and Maddie watched football. Maddie loves to watch football, she talks and babbles to the tv the whole time. While they watched football, I was able to steal away a few minutes to myself. I think Les is training her to like football. Oh goodness....

We love our family time!

Mawmaw & Pawpaw drove in for the weekend to the Woodlands to see Maddie. They couldn't believe how big and strong she is. She immediately started laughing and talking to them. She was so excited to see her great grandparents. We went to dinner, shopping and just played with Maddie all weekend. It was so much fun but it just went too fast. Take a look at our fun family weekend. (Oct. 12 weekend)

The proud Great Grandparents!
Maddie loves football especially LSU, but Pawpaw was upset by the play and couldn't believe what happened.
Maddie decided to chew on the cork while we ate our dinner, silly girl. Where did you get that cork????
Great Mawmaw stealing kisses before we have to leave :(
Great Grandparents with their granddaughter & great granddaughter!!

This is Maddie's new favorite thing to do: stand up on your lap. It cracks us up because she is so little but she loves to stand up.
Papa making Maddiebug fly.....so sweet!

This is just a fun picture: Brandon holding Maddie at Wade's birthday party last week. She got passed around all night and hung out with all the other band babies. Another little generation of band kids.

Maddie's Night Out

Maddie started her night out by going to Fridays to get some supper.
Maddie wants to order some "rice cereal with a little milk on the side!"
Just sitting with the girls at the table....I am such a big girl.
Then, Maddie went with me, aunt rae rae, nana and papa to Rolling Oaks to listen to some live music. She loves going out there because it is outside with the wind blowing and music playing.
She is definetly a "music baby."

Maddie asked the bartender, "do you have any nutrimagen on tap?"
"If so, i will take the short one, thank you!"

Dancing with Momma and Aunt Rae Rae

Nana & Momma with Maddiebug

Papa took over for a little while, Maddie had to have a quick bottle.Maddie finished her night off by flying through the air while listening to "purple rain" thanks to Mr. Ricky. It was the perfect ending to a fun night which was a late night too. She was a trooper!
